Why I chose this costume:
I made the first part of this costume many years ago following a Butterick pattern down to the very colour-scheme, because I really liked it. Recently, I added a new blouse to the ensemble to make this outfit more suitable for warmer weather. The original jacket was polyester taffeta and was not a pleasure to wear in extreme heat. I really enjoy the new combination, and sometimes feel a little like Mary Poppins. Not sure why…
