Completed: February 2007
Worn at: various functions
Why I chose this costume: One of the very first costumes I made using Janet Arnold's "Patterns of Fashion" book. I was very excited when I found fabric that matched the description of the dress to a tee!

This French caraco (jacket) is made of cotton with lovely delicate blue flowers printed on it. I've matched it with a blue taffeta petticoat, a sheer "fichu" (scarf), lace cap and sleeves.

A view of the process of box-pleating ribbon. A ridiculous amount of pins are necessary to hold the ribbon in place.
